Streator Public Library Unveils Exciting Activities for January
The Streator Public Library has announced a diverse lineup of activities for individuals of all ages, scheduled for the week of January 5-10. These programs aim to engage the community with educational workshops, creative sessions, and children’s events, all designed to foster learning and enjoyment.
Upcoming Programs and Activities
Throughout the week, several ongoing programs will be available. The Pinecone Scavenger Hunt invites participants to explore the library in search of hidden items, with weekly themes changing to keep the experience fresh. Additionally, the LEGO Club will provide build and create activities for children aged five and under, with parental supervision required.
On Monday, January 5, an Adult Job Search Workshop will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. This session, hosted in collaboration with BEST Inc. and library staff, will cover essential skills such as online job searches, resume building, and interview techniques. Later that evening, a TikTok workshop titled “Make It” will run from 17:00 to 18:00 for participants aged ten and older.
The following day, Tuesday, January 6, offers an Afternoon Watercolor session from 16:30 to 17:30 for ages ten and up, along with a Pinecones Storytime for younger children from 18:00 to 18:30.
On Wednesday, January 7, teens and adults can join in a Murder Mystery Meetup from 18:00 to 19:00, while Game Time will provide entertainment for those aged ten and older from 15:00 to 16:00.
The activities continue with a variety of programs on Thursday, January 8. The Mother Goose Club will be held for children aged four and under from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m., and the Marble Run Extreme activity will engage participants aged eight and older from 16:30 to 17:30. An Evening Acrylic painting class is scheduled for those aged ten and up from 18:00 to 19:00.
On Friday, January 9, children can participate in Gabby’s Dollhouse Playtime from 15:30 to 16:30. Finally, on Saturday, January 10, adults can benefit from a Tech Tutorial on Google, taking place from 11:00 to 12:00.
Community Engagement and Accessibility
All programs at the Streator Public Library are free and open to the public, reflecting the library’s commitment to community engagement and accessibility. By offering a wide range of activities, the library aims to inspire creativity, learning, and social interaction among residents of all ages.
For those interested in participating, the library encourages early arrival to ensure a spot in the various programs. This January schedule provides an excellent opportunity for individuals and families to connect with their community through educational and entertaining activities.
