Streator Library Offers Exciting Lineup of Free Programs
The Streator Public Library is set to engage the community with a week of diverse programs running from December 8 to December 13, 2023. This initiative aims to provide enriching experiences for individuals of all ages, featuring activities ranging from arts and crafts to technology tutorials.
Program Highlights Throughout the Week
The library’s schedule includes a scavenger hunt themed around ornaments and a dedicated Lego Club for children, with parental supervision required during Lego activities. Each day brings unique offerings designed to cater to different interests and age groups.
On Monday, December 8, teens can participate in the Make It: TikTok workshop from 17:00 to 18:00. This session will focus on safe video creation techniques, allowing participants to explore their creativity in a responsible manner.
Tuesday features the Library Book Club for adults from 10:00 to 11:00, providing an opportunity for book lovers to discuss their latest reads. The afternoon will host a Watercolor class for ages ten and above from 16:30 to 17:30, followed by a Storytime session titled “Holidays Around the World” for young children from 18:00 to 18:30.
On Wednesday, December 10, the library will host Game Time for teens from 15:00 to 16:00, encouraging social interaction and friendly competition. Later in the evening, adults and teens can delve into a Murder Mystery Meetup from 18:00 to 19:00, blending fun with critical thinking.
Additional Activities for All Ages
Thursday’s events include the Mother Goose Club for toddlers from 11:00 to 11:30, offering interactive stories and songs. Following this, a Snap Circuits session for ages eight and older will take place from 16:30 to 17:30, introducing participants to the basics of electronics. The evening will conclude with an Acrylic Painting class for children from 18:00 to 19:00, fostering artistic expression.
On Friday, December 12, children are invited to join Paw Patrol Playtime from 15:30 to 16:30. This event will feature stories, coloring activities, and short videos designed to entertain and educate.
The week will culminate on Saturday, December 13, with an iPhone Tech Tutorial for adults from 11:00 to 12:00, aimed at enhancing digital skills. Additionally, a Dice Bag Sewing workshop for teens and adults will be held from 13:00 to 14:00, blending creativity with practical skills.
