Kitchener Offers Over 200 Summer Jobs for Students Starting January 17
The city of Kitchener is set to open applications for more than 200 temporary summer jobs, providing students with valuable work experience. Starting on January 17, 2024, the positions available will cover various roles, including summer camp staff, youth program facilitators, inclusion support workers, lifeguards, customer service representatives, and events coordinators. Both full-time and part-time opportunities will be offered, catering to a wide range of student schedules.
To assist potential applicants, the city will host a Youth Hiring Expo on January 17 at the Forest Hill Community Centre. This event will allow students to engage directly with current city employees, gaining insights into the specific roles and responsibilities associated with each position. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions, receive guidance on the application process, and learn about the skills needed for various jobs.
Kitchener’s initiative aims to support local youth by providing them with employment opportunities during the summer months. The experience gained from these roles can be invaluable as students prepare for future career paths or further education. The city encourages all interested candidates to prepare their applications ahead of the expo, ensuring they are ready to make a strong impression.
The available positions not only contribute to the personal development of young individuals but also serve to enhance community programs and services throughout Kitchener. By employing students, the city aims to foster a sense of responsibility and engagement among its youth, while simultaneously delivering essential services to the community.
Interested students should mark their calendars for the expo and consider the variety of roles available. With positions spanning diverse interests and skill sets, Kitchener offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain work experience and contribute positively to their community this summer.
