Edfors to Explore Beaver Island’s History at Wild Winter Wednesday
The opening of the Wild Winter Wednesday program on December 3 will feature a new speaker, Hannah Pannell Edfors, who will present the history of Beaver Island. This change comes after a medical emergency involving the originally scheduled speaker, Dana Starkell. Edfors, a naturalist with Clinton County Conservation, is a native of Fulton and has a deep passion for the outdoors, shaped by her experiences along local rivers.
This event will take place at the Windmill Cultural Center in Fulton, with doors opening at 8:30 a.m. Attendees can enjoy complimentary coffee, hot cider, and treats from the mill before the program begins at approximately 9:15 a.m. The center is fully accessible for individuals with disabilities, and the program is free of charge, welcoming the public to engage with the community.
Edfors plans to immerse attendees in the rich history of Beaver Island, offering a unique perspective that reflects her expertise and enthusiasm for the natural world. Her background and commitment to conservation make her an ideal speaker for this educational program.
The Wild Winter Wednesday series aims to provide enriching experiences for the community during the winter months. It is important to note that if River Bend Schools are closed, delayed, or conducting remote learning due to inclement weather on that day, the WWW program will be canceled.
As the season kicks off, the community looks forward to Edfors’ presentation and the opportunity to learn more about the historical significance of Beaver Island.
