The DeKalb Area Women’s Center is hosting an educational presentation titled “The Lost Goddess Cultures of Old Europe” on January 9, 2024. This free event will run from 17:30 to 18:30 in the center’s great hall, located at 1021 State St., DeKalb.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the lives, innovations, art, and spiritual beliefs of Neolithic civilizations in Europe. The presentation aims to shed light on the cultural achievements of these ancient communities, including their unique interpretations of goddess worship.

Marilyn Hrymak will lead the session, providing insights into how the innovations from Old Europe have influenced contemporary life. Participants will also engage in discussions about the reasons behind the disappearance of these cultures, enriching their understanding of historical dynamics in Europe.

The event is designed to be accessible to all, including those with disabilities. While the presentation is free, the DeKalb Area Women’s Center welcomes donations to support its ongoing initiatives.

This opportunity not only promises to enhance knowledge about early European societies but also encourages community engagement through shared learning experiences.
