Canada Strong Pass Grants Free Child Admission at Science North
Young visitors will enjoy free admission this holiday season at two prominent science attractions in northern Ontario, thanks to the newly launched Canada Strong Pass initiative. From December 12, 2023, until January 15, 2024, both Science North and its sister site, Dynamic Earth, will provide free general admission for all visitors under 18 years old. Additionally, young adults aged 18 to 24 can access a 50 percent discount on their tickets.
The Canada Strong Pass program, backed by the Government of Canada, aims to reduce financial barriers for families and young adults, making science more accessible. “We’re proud to make science even more accessible for young people this holiday season,” said Ashley Larose, CEO of Science North. She emphasized that the initiative allows families to explore both attractions, fostering curiosity and creating lasting memories during the festive season.
Encouraging Seasonal Tourism
The initiative has received support from Ontario’s tourism sector as part of the province’s seasonal offerings. Stan Cho, Ontario’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, highlighted the importance of the program. “The holiday season is the perfect time to connect with family and friends while enjoying Ontario’s festive indoor and outdoor activities,” Cho noted. He added that with free and discounted admission for youth and young adults at leading attractions like Science North and Dynamic Earth, families have a unique opportunity to explore the province’s cultural treasures.
Tickets under the Canada Strong Pass must be ordered either online or in person at the box offices of the respective attractions. The program covers general admission to both sites, including the underground tour at Dynamic Earth.
Visitors interested in taking advantage of this offer can find more information about the Canada Strong Pass and its details at sciencenorth.ca/holiday. This initiative not only aims to boost engagement with science but also seeks to enhance the overall experience of visiting Ontario during the holiday season.
