Tenaris Expands Operations with New Service Center in BC
Tenaris has announced the opening of a new Service Center in Fort St. John, British Columbia, covering an area of nine acres. This facility aims to enhance support for energy customers operating in British Columbia and Alberta, particularly in regions rich in natural resources.
The new center is strategically located within the Montney Formation, a key area known for housing some of North America’s largest natural gas reserves. This region is also central to Canada’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects. Service Centers play a crucial role in facilitating day-to-day drilling operations, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of energy extraction in one of Canada’s most productive energy landscapes.
With the addition of the Fort St. John facility, Tenaris now operates three Service Centers in Canada, including those in Edmonton and Grande Prairie, both situated in Alberta. The company’s commitment to the region is underscored by its substantial workforce of over 1,200 employees and a broad operational footprint that includes multiple facilities.
Comprehensive Operations Across Canada
Tenaris’s Canadian operations extend beyond its Service Centers. The company maintains a significant presence with its Sault Ste. Marie Industrial Centre, three facilities in Alberta that include an accessories and pipe threading facility in Nisku, and three coating facilities located in Edmonton and Camrose. Additionally, Tenaris operates a commercial office in Calgary and a research and development center in Toronto.
The expansion into Fort St. John reflects Tenaris’s strategic response to the growing demand for energy services in Canada. The company aims to bolster its capabilities to support the increasing activity levels in the Montney region, which is integral to both national and international energy markets.
As Tenaris continues to invest in its Canadian operations, the focus remains on providing high-quality services and products to meet the needs of its customers, ensuring that they can operate efficiently in a competitive environment. This expansion not only solidifies Tenaris’s position in the Canadian energy sector but also demonstrates its commitment to supporting the economic growth of the regions in which it operates.
The establishment of the new Service Center is expected to enhance operational efficiency, reduce lead times for customers, and ultimately contribute to the development of sustainable energy solutions in Canada.
