BNA Brewing to Open New Bowling Alley in Downtown Penticton

A new bowling alley is set to open in downtown Penticton as the Kelowna-based brewery, BNA Brewing, prepares to launch its latest location. The establishment will move into 218 Martin Street, the former site of Slackwater Brewing, which ceased operations in October 2024 due to financial and operational challenges. Construction crews are currently on-site, working to finalize the space for its anticipated opening in late summer 2025.
BNA Brewing, which already operates locations in Kelowna and Vernon, is known for its unique blend of craft beer and entertainment options, including bowling alleys. The new Penticton venue will feature a second-floor bowling alley, complementing its offerings of locally brewed beer and a menu that includes various food items, such as burgers. In a recent social media post, the brewery expressed enthusiasm about the new venture, stating, “We’re getting ready to bring you cold beer, smash burgers, and good times in our new home on Martin Street.”
Since its inception in 2015, BNA Brewing has made a significant impact in the Okanagan region’s craft brewing scene. Co-founders Kyle and Carolyn Nixon opened the first location on Ellis Street in Kelowna, which features six 10-pin bowling lanes. Following its success, the brewery expanded to Vernon in February 2025, becoming the city’s second brewpub.
The closure of Slackwater Brewing left a notable gap in the Penticton market. While the brewery’s owners cited operational difficulties as the reason for shutting down, the production and distribution of its beers have remained unaffected. BNA Brewing’s arrival is expected to revitalize the space and bring new life to the downtown area.
As the opening date approaches, local residents and visitors alike are looking forward to enjoying the combined experience of craft beer, food, and recreational bowling. The brewery aims to create a vibrant community hub that not only serves quality beverages but also fosters social interaction and entertainment.
For more information on BNA Brewing’s upcoming Penticton location, interested individuals can visit the brewery’s official website, where updates regarding the opening will be posted as the construction progresses.
