The annual Winter Jubilee returns to Historic Downtown Abbotsford on November 22, 2025, from 15:00 to 20:00, marking its 36th year of celebrating the holiday season. The event promises to transform the downtown area into a festive winter wonderland, featuring a variety of activities for families and visitors.

As part of the festivities, attendees can look forward to the lighting of a remarkable 60-foot tree. This highlight draws the community together, culminating in a shared moment of joy as the tree shines brightly for all to see. “We love bringing this cherished holiday tradition to Historic Downtown Abbotsford and delighting our guests with our big small-town heart and local flavours,” stated Ryan Leonhard, the executive director for the Abbotsford Downtown Business Association.

Festive Activities and Entertainment

The Winter Jubilee is not just about the tree lighting. It features a range of activities including Santa’s Workshop, where children can engage in crafts and games. Families can also become certified elves at the Elf Academy and explore a holiday marketplace filled with artisan vendors offering unique gifts.

Live entertainment will be a staple of the evening, with comedian and emcee Cliff Prang hosting the festivities. Performances from various groups, including the MEI Choir, Goddess Movement, and Silver Diamond Country Dancers, will add to the vibrant atmosphere. The MEI Screaming Eagles Marching Band will lead Santa’s March, ensuring excitement throughout the evening.

In addition to entertainment, there will be family-friendly stations for cookie decorating and face painting, as well as opportunities for festive photographs with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, available by donation.

Food and Community Spirit

The event will also feature a diverse lineup of food trucks, including Shawarma Time, Big Red’s Poutine, and Tacosaurus, offering delicious holiday treats. Visitors can indulge in nostalgic snacks such as Beavertails and mini donuts, along with festive drinks like hot chocolate and Jingle Juice served in light-up cups.

The Winter Jubilee serves as the kickoff for Historic Downtown Abbotsford’s Jingle All the Way campaign, which includes additional special events like photos with the Grinch and various holiday workshops.
