The UP Express train service to Pearson International Airport has been suspended due to unplanned track repairs that were identified on Thursday, October 5, 2023. This disruption was confirmed by Metrolinx, the regional transit agency responsible for the service.

To accommodate affected passengers, GO Transit has implemented shuttle bus services running directly from Union Station to Pearson. Meanwhile, Lyndsay Miller, a spokesperson for Metrolinx, stated in an email that regular train service continues to operate between Union and Weston Stations.

Travelers intending to reach the airport from other UP Express stations are advised to utilize the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). In addition to this, extra service is being provided along route 900 from Kipling Station.

According to Miller, the track issues were detected during overnight testing conducted between Weston and Pearson. As of now, no timeline has been established for the completion of the necessary repairs.

Passengers are encouraged to remain updated on service changes and alternative transportation options as the situation develops.
