BC Hydro Reschedules John Hart Facility Warning System Tests
BC Hydro has announced a change in the testing schedule for the public warning system at the John Hart facility, necessitated by the removal of debris from the area. Originally set for November 6, 2023, the public warning system test will now take place on November 7, 2023. This adjustment aims to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the system prior to its operational use.
The testing of the spillway operating gates, a critical component of the facility’s safety measures, is scheduled for November 5 and November 13, 2023. These tests will occur between 08:00 and 18:00 local time. The gates are essential for managing water flow and maintaining the structural integrity of the facility.
Residents and stakeholders in the surrounding area are encouraged to stay informed about these changes as they are crucial for the ongoing safety assessments of the facility. BC Hydro has emphasized its commitment to transparency and public safety, ensuring that all necessary precautions are taken during the testing process.
By rescheduling these tests, BC Hydro aims to minimize disruption while maintaining high safety standards. The organization will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as necessary. Those interested in more details about the testing and its implications can refer to BC Hydro’s official communications.
