Xiaomi 18 Rumored Design Leaked, Echoes iPhone Aesthetics
Rumors regarding the upcoming Xiaomi 18 series have emerged even before the global rollout of the Xiaomi 17 flagship smartphones. A recent leak from a Chinese blogger has surfaced, claiming to reveal the design of the Xiaomi 18, which appears to bear a striking resemblance to the iPhone 16 Pro.
Design Features and Comparisons
The alleged render of the Xiaomi 18 showcases a rear design that closely mirrors the iPhone 16 Pro. The phone features a similar triple-camera setup, accompanied by an LED flash unit housed within an elevated camera island located in the top-left corner of the back. Notably, the design lacks a LiDAR scanner, which is present in Apple’s latest models. Additionally, the leaked image indicates LEICA branding on the camera module.
Despite the intriguing design similarities, Xiaomi is not expected to officially launch the Xiaomi 18 series until September 2024. As such, it is prudent for consumers and tech enthusiasts to approach this leak with caution, as it may not represent the final design.
Expected Specifications and Upgrades
While the design remains speculative, credible reports suggest that the Xiaomi 18 will feature a 6.4-inch OLED screen with a maximum adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz. The device is anticipated to be powered by Qualcomm’s forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor.
Rumors also indicate a robust camera setup, including a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and an impressive 200MP periscope telephoto shooter. These enhancements suggest that Xiaomi aims to elevate its photography capabilities significantly with this new series.
In addition to camera improvements, the Xiaomi 18 is expected to ship with Android 17 and the latest version of HyperOS. Furthermore, advancements in fast charging technology are anticipated, though specific details remain unconfirmed.
As the launch date approaches, the landscape of rumors and leaks surrounding the Xiaomi 18 series is likely to evolve. For now, technology enthusiasts will need to wait for official announcements to ascertain the authenticity of these claims.
