Roguecraft DX Launches on Amiga, MEGA65, and Game Boy Color

Thalamus Digital Publishing Ltd. has officially announced the release of Roguecraft DX for three iconic retro gaming platforms: the Commodore Amiga, MEGA65, and Nintendo Game Boy Color. This expanded version builds on the success of the original Roguecraft, which debuted in August 2025 as an exclusive title for the Evercade console. The announcement comes from a collaboration with Badger Punch Games, Rocketship Park, and RetroCogs.

Set to launch in the first quarter of 2026, Roguecraft DX introduces a range of enhancements, including new levels, room layouts, additional monsters, and improved animations. Players will also enjoy new achievements and extra music tracks composed by Jogeir Liljedahl. This 3D isometric roguelike will feature fifteen levels and three playable characters, as well as a variety of enemies, traps, and potions, all presented in a retro 16-bit visual style tailored for the Game Boy Color.

Ricki Sickenger, co-founder of Badger Punch Games, expressed excitement about the game’s growth. “When we released Roguecraft in 2024, we had no idea that the game would become as popular as it has on the Amiga, and even more so on the Evercade,” he stated. Sickenger emphasized that the new versions for MEGA65 and Game Boy Color have been developed to leverage the unique strengths of each platform, with guidance from experienced partners in the industry.

The decision to expand the game’s reach came after the positive reception of both the original title and its updated version. Andy Roberts, founder and CEO of Thalamus, noted, “After the success of the original Roguecraft, I was eager to work with Badger Punch Games to bring the franchise to as many gaming platforms as possible.” He praised RetroCogs and Rocketship Park for their contributions to the new ports.

Digital versions of Roguecraft DX will be available for download on February 2, 2026, through the Thalamus Digital store on itch.io. Physical pre-orders will open on March 2, 2026, at the Thalamus online store, inviting fans of retro gaming to experience this updated classic.

As the team looks ahead, there are plans for further releases on additional retro systems, as well as PC and modern consoles. The expansion of Roguecraft not only highlights the enduring appeal of retro gaming but also reflects a growing market for nostalgic titles reimagined for new audiences.
