Innovative Branch Paper Holder Enhances Laptop Workflows
A new product called the Branch has emerged to enhance the way users manage printed documents while working on laptops. Designed to address the common issue of balancing paper notes with digital screens, this innovative paper holder clips onto the edge of a laptop screen, allowing users to keep their documents within the same visual plane as their display.
This solution is particularly relevant in 2026, as many professionals still rely on printed materials, including handwritten notes, briefs, and reference sheets. The traditional method of placing these items flat on a desk results in frequent head and eye movement, which can disrupt focus and lead to discomfort. The Branch aims to alleviate this problem by offering a more streamlined and ergonomic approach to document management.
Design and Functionality of the Branch
The Branch is a slim, lightweight holder that measures just 17 cm in length and weighs approximately 130 g. It is designed to fit screens between 3 mm and 6 mm thick, making it compatible with most modern laptops ranging from 13 inches to 15.6 inches. This versatility ensures that a broad audience can benefit from its features.
Users can mount the Branch by clipping it onto their laptop screen, then rotating it until it aligns horizontally with the display. The arm of the holder can accommodate up to ten A4 pages, allowing for easy viewing of multi-page contracts, code printouts, or study materials. The adjustable arm rotates both horizontally and vertically, bringing printed documents into the user’s line of sight, thereby reducing the need for excessive neck movement.
The design incorporates a slight angle of approximately 15 degrees to prevent documents from slipping off, while the clip allows for pages to be displayed in both portrait and landscape orientations. This functionality caters to various document types, from lengthy text columns to wide spreadsheets.
Philosophy Behind the Design
The creators of the Branch, led by designer IAN BOK, aimed to create a product that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. Unlike generic office supply stands that can clutter a workspace, the Branch maintains a minimalistic appearance. It is designed to seamlessly blend into a modern office environment while providing an effective solution for document management.
The choice of the name “Branch” reflects the product’s mission. Much like tree branches that support leaves and gather nutrients, the Branch serves as a physical bridge between analog notes and digital tools. It does not attempt to replace paper or digitize notes; instead, it enhances the user experience by facilitating easier access to printed materials.
In a time when many professionals still prefer jotting down notes by hand, the Branch represents a thoughtful upgrade to traditional document management. By providing a simple yet effective solution, it aims to reduce clutter and improve comfort during long hours spent working on laptops.
Overall, the Branch paper holder promises to be a valuable addition to the workspace of anyone who regularly juggles both printed documents and digital screens. Its thoughtful design and practical features make it a noteworthy tool for enhancing productivity in today’s fast-paced work environment.
