Ford Showcases Powerful Raptor R and Maverick 300T at SEMA
Ford has made a significant impact at the 2025 SEMA Show by unveiling two high-performance project trucks: the F-150 Raptor R and the Maverick 300T. The Raptor R boasts an impressive output of over 900 horsepower thanks to a new Whipple supercharger, while the Maverick 300T features a turbocharged engine derived from the Mustang, elevating its performance to 300 horsepower.
The SEMA Show, taking place in Las Vegas, is a prominent event organized by the Specialty Equipment Market Association. It serves as a platform for automotive companies to showcase various aftermarket accessories and innovative vehicle designs. Ford’s participation highlights its commitment to enhancing vehicle performance and customization.
The F-150 Raptor R has undergone a remarkable transformation. By integrating a 3.0-litre Whipple supercharger into its existing 5.2-litre V8 engine, Ford has pushed the power output from 720 to over 900 horsepower. This performance package is expected to be available for consumers, including in Canada, with a warranty of three years or 60,000 km when installed by a certified Ford dealer.
In addition to the power enhancement, the Raptor R project vehicle features a range of upgrades. These include a Borla cat-back exhaust, a gloss carbon-fibre appearance package, Rigid off-road lighting, and Method black wheels. According to Matt Simpson, executive director of Ford’s accessories and personalization, the goal was to create “a blueprint for the ultimate factory-backed Raptor.”
The Maverick 300T, while more compact than the Raptor R, also received notable modifications for its debut at the show. Retaining its stock 2.0-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, the Maverick now pairs it with a turbocharger from the 2.3-litre Mustang EcoBoost. This combination, enhanced by a high-performance intercooler, boosts the Maverick’s output to an estimated 300 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque.
Ford has indicated that the Maverick 300T package will also be available to consumers in 2026, with similar legal approvals in Canada and warranty options. It is recommended that customers planning to install this package on their gas-only Mavericks also consider an optional 4,000-lb towing package to accommodate the increased performance.
The Maverick 300T includes a range of additional features, such as a performance calibration, Borla sport cat-back exhaust, and a Lobo lowering kit, which lowers the vehicle by 10 mm in front and 30 mm in the rear. A distinctive “300T” graphics package and Ford Performance-branded accessories further enhance its sporty appearance.
Both the Raptor R and Maverick 300T demonstrate Ford’s dedication to innovation in performance vehicles. With their powerful modifications and consumer-friendly packages, these trucks are set to capture the attention of automotive enthusiasts in various markets.
As the automotive industry continues to evolve, Ford’s latest offerings at the SEMA Show signify a strong push towards performance-oriented vehicles that not only meet consumer demands but also pave the way for future enhancements in the truck segment.
