Family Remembers Gordon Stone on 44th Anniversary of Passing
Family and friends gathered to honor the memory of Gordon Stone, who passed away on January 12, 1982. This year marks the 44th anniversary of his death, and his loved ones continue to reflect on his contributions and the sacrifices he made for his country.
Gordon Stone joined the Navy as a teenager, demonstrating his commitment to service and freedom. His dedication took him overseas, where he participated in efforts to protect the rights and liberties that many today may take for granted. On this Remembrance Day, his family expressed their heartfelt gratitude for his bravery and the sacrifices made by all service members.
In a touching tribute, his family shared, “Even though it has been 44 years, you are still missed and loved.” The sentiments were echoed by his children, Jo-Anne, Gerry, Debbie, Andrea, and Michael, who emphasized that their father’s legacy continues to resonate within their families.
Gordon’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of remembering those who have served in the military. The family noted that the freedoms enjoyed today are often overlooked and can be easily lost without vigilance. Their reflections highlight the enduring impact of military service on families and communities.
As Remembrance Day is observed, communities worldwide come together to honor veterans and active service members. The legacy of individuals like Gordon Stone reinforces the value of freedom and peace. This year, his family encourages others to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices that have shaped their lives and the world around them.
