Ottawa Firefighters Rescue Driver Trapped After Two-Car Crash
Ottawa firefighters successfully rescued an individual trapped in a vehicle following a two-car crash on March 10, 2024. The incident occurred at approximately 09:00 local time at the intersection of Templeford Avenue and Tabaret Street in the Kanata area.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found one of the vehicles on its side, with the driver unable to exit. Fire crews quickly stabilized the overturned vehicle. Utilizing specialized hydraulic tools, they extricated the driver within four minutes. By 09:04, the individual was freed and in the care of paramedics.
In addition to the rescue, firefighters addressed safety concerns by spreading absorbent material to manage leaking fluids and clearing debris from the scene. Two people sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
The swift response from the Ottawa Fire Services demonstrates their commitment to ensuring public safety and effective emergency management in the community.
