DeKalb Library Offers Thrifting Program to Enhance Shopping Skills
The DeKalb Public Library is set to host a program aimed at enhancing second-hand shopping skills on December 1, 2023. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the event will take place in the library’s lower-level Bilder Family Meeting Room, located at 309 Oak St, DeKalb. This free program will provide valuable insights for individuals interested in finding unique items while thrifting.
Participants will learn essential techniques to navigate second-hand shopping effectively. The session will cover important topics such as identifying quality pieces, recognizing hidden gems, and understanding how to make purposeful shopping choices. With the holiday season approaching, attendees will also have the opportunity to explore ideas for gifting through the “From Thrifted to Gifted” showcase.
The program is designed for both novice and experienced thrifters, offering practical tips on how to search through racks and what details to pay attention to while shopping. The library encourages anyone interested to attend, as no prior registration is necessary.
For further details, interested individuals can reach out via email at [email protected] or by calling 815-756-9568, ext. 2150. This initiative underlines the library’s commitment to community engagement and education, providing a fun and informative experience for all who attend.
