Kitchener Invites Restaurateurs for New Dining Experience at The Aud

The City of Kitchener is actively seeking applicants for a new restaurant operator at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex. Following a decision made in May 2025, the Subscriber’s Lounge will be transformed into a modern, full-service restaurant spanning 2,300 square feet, accommodating up to 120 guests.
The city aims to offer a vibrant dining experience that reflects local flavor and community spirit. According to a recent media release, the restaurant will feature craft beer on tap, locally sourced ingredients, and televisions broadcasting live events, including games from the Kitchener Rangers and Titans, as well as concerts and other entertainment.
Renovation Investments and Upgrades
In tandem with the restaurant project, the Kitchener Rangers plan significant upgrades to their facilities. This includes enhancements to the fitness centre, the players’ lounge, and physical therapy spaces, alongside the establishment of a dedicated media and scout area. The total cost of these renovations is estimated at $2.5 million, which will be fully covered by the Rangers organization. Meanwhile, the city will contribute approximately $2 million to the overall project, with taxpayers responsible for 25 percent of that amount.
Mayor Berry Vrbanovic expressed enthusiasm about the renovations, emphasizing the goal of providing a VIP experience for all visitors. “Whether you’re there to cheer on the Rangers or Titans, watching your child’s sporting activity, catching a concert, or coming for an e-Sports tournament, we want every guest to feel like they’re getting a VIP experience,” he stated in the media release. He highlighted that this renovation will further solidify The Aud’s status as the area’s premier multi-purpose venue and create opportunities for larger events in the future.
The selected restaurant operator will manage all aspects of the establishment, including menu creation, kitchen and front-of-house operations, bar management, staffing, and training.
Interested entrepreneurs must submit their applications by September 16, 2025, at 1 p.m. More details are available on the City of Kitchener’s official website.
