Police Seize $37K in Cocaine, 89,000 Cigarettes in Edmonton Bust

A recent drug trafficking investigation in west Edmonton resulted in the seizure of nearly $37,000 worth of cocaine and approximately 89,000 contraband cigarettes. The operation, conducted by the Edmonton Police Service (EPS), led to multiple charges against three young men aged between 18 and 22 years.

On November 25, 2023, officers from the drug and gang enforcement section executed a search warrant at a residence located in the vicinity of 214 Street and 49 Avenue. During the investigation, police discovered a significant quantity of illegal substances and items, including the cocaine and cigarettes, which are commonly associated with organized crime activities.

The three individuals now face several serious charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime exceeding $5,000, and possession of a loaded restricted firearm. The EPS has stressed the importance of such operations in combating drug trafficking and related crimes in the community.
