The upcoming OnePlus Turbo, codenamed ‘Prado’, is generating excitement with its impressive specifications, including a substantial 9,000mAh battery and a 144Hz display. This device is expected to launch in India soon, following the announcement of the Turbo series by OnePlus last week. While it was introduced as the Turbo in China, it may be marketed as a Nord in other regions.

In a statement on Weibo, Li Jie Louis, President of OnePlus China, emphasized that the Turbo series will deliver “frighteningly strong” performance, battery life, and gaming capabilities, setting a new standard for mid-range devices. The anticipated specifications showcase a powerful 6.8-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, which, while impressive, is slightly lower than the 165Hz displays found in the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15R models.

Powerful Features and Performance

The OnePlus Turbo will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, ensuring smooth performance for users. It is expected to offer options for 8GB of RAM and storage variants of 128GB and 256GB.

The device will also feature a versatile camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera. Fast charging capabilities are supported through 80W SUPERVOOC technology, allowing users to quickly recharge the large battery.

Design-wise, the OnePlus Turbo will share similarities with recent OnePlus models, sporting a camera module positioned in the upper-left corner. Its design is expected to feature a glossy plastic back, which suggests affordability, aligning with its target market in India. Early reports indicate it will be available in at least two colors: a striking blue and a classic black, with the blue variant displaying a unique greenish tint.

Expected Launch and Global Availability

The OnePlus Turbo is rumored to be unveiled around March 2026, potentially coinciding with the Mobile World Congress scheduled for March 2-5, 2026, in Barcelona. Historically, OnePlus has used this event to make significant announcements, and this year may be no exception.

While the Turbo series was initially introduced for the Chinese market, it is likely to be rebranded as a Nord device for international markets. This pattern mirrors previous launches where models like the OnePlus Ace were adapted for global release as budget-friendly flagships such as the OnePlus 13R or 15R. Unfortunately, this may mean limited availability in the United States, where the Nord line has not seen a new release in recent years.

As anticipation builds for the OnePlus Turbo, its combination of robust features and competitive pricing positions it as a promising option for consumers seeking high performance without breaking the bank.
