London Retiree Mary Hutton Wins $1 Million Lotto Prize
A retiree from London, Ontario, has become the city’s latest millionaire after winning $1 million on the Instant Millionaire Multiplier lottery game. Mary Hutton, aged 84, expressed her joy at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, where she collected her winnings. As part of her weekly routine, Hutton plays the lottery, and this time, her luck paid off in a significant way.
While recounting her experience, Hutton shared, “I enjoy playing instant tickets and like to try new games when they come out.” Her excitement was palpable as she described the moment of her win. “I played this ticket at home and realized I won big when I uncovered the last number and counted all the zeroes,” she said.
After discovering her win, Hutton immediately contacted her son to share the joyous news. “I called him on the phone, and he was so happy for me,” she noted.
Hutton’s plans for her newfound fortune include spreading cheer during the upcoming holiday season. She expressed her desire to treat her loved ones and contribute to local charities that hold significance for her. “Christmas is coming, so I’m thinking of how I can treat my loved ones this holiday season. I’m also considering some home renovations,” she added.
The winning ticket was purchased at a Circle K store located on Wellington Road in London. Hutton’s story highlights the life-changing impact of lottery wins and the potential for individuals to give back to their communities. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) continues to provide opportunities for such wins, enhancing the lives of players across the province.
