Canadian Woman to Represent Palestine at Miss Universe 2025

A Canadian woman residing in Dubai, Nadeen Ayoub, has announced her intention to represent Palestine at the upcoming Miss Universe 2025 pageant. The 27-year-old model and wellness coach revealed the news on social media, donning a striking white and red gown alongside a sash proclaiming her title. In a video shared with her followers, Ayoub expressed her honor in representing Palestine, stating, “At a time when the world’s eyes are on our homeland, I carry this role with deep responsibility. It’s more than a title; it’s a platform to speak up for the people of Palestine, especially our women and children.”
The appointment has raised questions, particularly as Palestine is not widely recognized as a sovereign state by many nations, and no formal competition appears to have been held to select her as the representative. According to the New York Post, Ayoub serves as the founder and manager of the Miss Palestine Organization, which was officially registered in May 2023. The organization’s website features black-and-white images of Ayoub wearing a crown, further establishing her connection to this new title.
Born in the United States and raised in Canada, Ayoub currently lives in Dubai. She studied English literature and psychology at Western University and completed her high school education in London, Ontario. Ayoub first claimed the title of Miss Palestine in 2022 but postponed her participation in the Miss Universe pageant following the terrorist attacks by Hamas on October 7, 2023.
In comments to The National, a newspaper based in the United Arab Emirates, Ayoub mentioned the significance of her role amid the ongoing conflict in her homeland. She stated, “We are more than our struggle, we are women with dreams, talents and a powerful voice to offer the world.”
The Miss Palestine Organization has not yet clarified the specifics of Ayoub’s appointment. A spokesperson indicated that preparations for official materials related to Ayoub’s participation are underway and that further details would be released soon.
Mario Bucaro, Vice President of International Relations for the Miss Universe Organization, confirmed that all applications undergo a thorough review process by a dedicated commission. He refrained from elaborating on the selection of Ayoub but emphasized the organization’s commitment to being an “apolitical, inclusive” platform. Bucaro expressed anticipation for Ayoub’s participation, stating, “We look forward to seeing Ms. Ayoub on the Miss Universe stage, showcasing the beauty, talent and resilience of her people.”
Ayoub has also established an initiative called Sayidat Falasteen, through which she aims to share “stories of strength, creativity and hope” during her journey.
The Miss Universe pageant is scheduled to take place in Thailand on November 21, 2025. As Ayoub prepares for this international platform, she remains determined to advocate for the Palestinian people, particularly their women and children, while embodying the resilience and dreams of her community.
