The Regina Public Library (RPL) has unveiled its list of the most borrowed books for 2025, highlighting significant reading trends within the community. According to a recent news release from the library, the top title was The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins, indicating a strong interest in self-help literature among patrons this year.

In the non-fiction category, several titles captured readers’ attention. Malcolm Gladwell’s Revenge of the Tipping Point stood out, alongside From Here to the Great Unknown by Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough, The House of Mother by Shari Franke, and Cher: The Memoir, Part One. These selections reflect a diverse range of interests, from cultural commentary to personal memoirs.

Fiction enthusiasts also had their favorites, with titles such as Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros, Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry, and The Grey Wolf by Louise Penny. Other notable mentions include The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden and In Too Deep by Lee Child and Andrew Child. These works have resonated with readers seeking engaging narratives.

The library also spotlighted Indigenous literature, showcasing titles such as The Mighty Red by Louise Erdrich, Reconciling History by Jody Wilson-Raybould and Roshan Danesh, and The Buffalo Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones. Other popular Indigenous titles include Children Like Us by Brittany Penner and Bones of a Giant by Brian Thomas Isaac. This selection emphasizes the importance of diverse voices in literature.

The list also featured top Canadian titles, which included The Grey Wolf by Louise Penny, One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune, and The Maid’s Secret by Nita Prose. Notable works like The Paris Express by Emma Donoghue also gained significant traction among library patrons.

In the young adult category, Suzanne Collins‘ latest installment, Sunrise on the Reaping, led the pack. Other favorites included Fearless by Lauren Roberts, The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han, Nothing Like the Movies by Lynn Painter, and The Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli. These titles reflect the evolving interests of teen readers.

Children’s literature saw significant engagement as well, with the Dog Man series by Dav Pilkey and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney remaining exceptionally popular. Other highly borrowed titles included the Baby-Sitters Little Sister graphic novel series by Katy Farina and the Cartoonists Club by Raina Telgemeier and Scott McCloud. These selections highlight the importance of fostering a love for reading in younger audiences.

According to RPL, the year-end lists encompass physical books, audiobooks, and e-books, reflecting a wide array of formats that cater to the diverse preferences of the community. This annual reflection not only showcases popular titles but also emphasizes the library’s role in promoting literacy and access to a variety of reading materials for all ages.
