The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) has initiated its Annual Appeal with the theme “Faith into Action: Educate, Inspire, Serve.” This campaign encourages the community to contribute resources, whether financial or through volunteerism, to support families seeking a Catholic education despite facing financial barriers.

John Narcissi, a board member of the CEF, emphasized the importance of both monetary donations and community engagement. He stated, “We need the checks, but we need the people to give their time or at least be advocates and ambassadors of the CEF and let people know who we are.” Narcissi highlighted that fostering relationships and maintaining a presence across the Diocese of Joliet is essential for the foundation’s success.

The primary objective of the CEF is to ensure that no student is denied access to a Catholic education due to financial constraints. “We need to have enough money so that every parent that wants their child to go to one of our schools is able to go,” Narcissi remarked. His commitment reflects a broader goal within the foundation to bring children closer to Christ through education.

Since its inception in 1996, the CEF has played a critical role in sustaining Catholic education within the diocese. Through the generosity of donors, the foundation has provided over 50,000 students across more than 40 schools in five counties with a faith-based education. This year, the CEF aims to raise $1 million to ensure the continuation and vibrancy of Catholic education for future generations.

To support this mission, the CEF invites individuals and organizations to contribute. Donations can be made online at CEFJoliet.org, and for those interested in further information, the foundation can be contacted directly at:

The CEF’s initiative not only seeks to alleviate the financial burden on families but also aims to build a stronger community rooted in faith and education. Through collective efforts, the foundation hopes to inspire both current and future generations to pursue their educational aspirations within the framework of Catholic values.
