Vancouver is set to host its largest non-alcoholic drinks tasting event, Free Spirit, on December 8, 2025. This event, held at Heritage Hall, aims to provide an enjoyable experience for those participating in Dry January and for anyone interested in exploring the expanding world of non-alcoholic beverages.

Local sommelier and event organizer Kurtis Kolt noted that this year’s edition will feature more than double the number of producers compared to the inaugural event, which sold out earlier in the year. “Whether it’s dubbed non-alc, zero-proof, or alcohol-free, the drinks category enjoyed by those doing Dry January, the sober-curious, and the rest of us continues to grow,” Kolt stated. He emphasized that the event allows attendees to discover drinks suitable for holiday gatherings, cozy nights in, or as thoughtful hostess gifts.

Exploring a Diverse Selection of Non-Alcoholic Beverages

Guests at Free Spirit will have the opportunity to sample creations from over 50 producers from British Columbia and beyond. Notable highlights include Glimmer’s sparkling Chardonnay and Creek & Gully’s artisan sodas from the Okanagan Valley. Attendees can also explore offerings from Sea Cider and Phillips Brewing from Vancouver Island.

The event will feature international producers as well, including Domaine Des Grottes from France, Edenvale Winery from Australia, and Italian brands such as Colibri, Cipriani, and Bottega. Local favorites, including Nonny and Strange Fellows Brewing, will also showcase their innovative non-alcoholic options.

In addition to tastings, an on-site pop-up bottle shop provided by Mocktails will allow guests to purchase their favorite beverages to take home.

Event Details and Ticket Information

The Free Spirit event will take place on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 18:30 to 20:30 at Heritage Hall, located at 3102 Main St., Vancouver. Tickets are available for $48 and can be purchased online.

As the trend towards non-alcoholic options continues to gain traction, events like Free Spirit play a significant role in making sober choices enjoyable and accessible. This gathering not only highlights the variety within the non-alcoholic beverage industry but also fosters a sense of community among those exploring these options.
