Police received multiple reports just before 13:30 local time regarding a man who was displaying what appeared to be a firearm on a bus near McCallum Road and Highway 1. Officers quickly responded to the scene and located Desjarlais, who was subsequently arrested. A fake gun was recovered during the police response.

Desjarlais remains in custody as he awaits a bail hearing. The Abbotsford Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident, which has raised concerns about public safety on public transportation.
