Bella Potempa Powers Timothy Christian to Volleyball Victory

Timothy Christian’s volleyball team maintained their unbeaten record with a decisive victory over Romeoville, winning both sets 25-18 and 25-16. The standout player of the match was Bella Potempa, who delivered an impressive performance with 13 kills and six digs. This win brings Timothy Christian’s season record to 8-0.
In addition to Potempa’s contributions, several other players played pivotal roles in the team’s success. Ella Rickert contributed seven kills and three blocks, while Elizabeth Alex showcased her playmaking skills with 20 assists and nine digs. Kate Vogelzang added four digs, further solidifying the Trojans’ defense as they continue their strong season.
In other matches, the Redwings of Benet improved their record to 6-1 with a win against Lincoln-Way East, securing the match with scores of 25-17 and 25-14. Meanwhile, Glenbard South triumphed over Larkin, winning 25-14 and 25-15. Notably, Alyna Krabec facilitated the Raiders’ efforts with nine assists and contributed two aces. Other key players included Callie Hardtke, who recorded five kills, five digs, and three aces, and Mia Abate, who also had five kills. Emma Full added to the Raiders’ tally with three kills, three digs, and four aces.
In girls’ tennis, Marian Central edged out Wheaton Academy with a close score of 3-2. The winning doubles teams for West Chicago included Elizabeth VanHuis and Milly Rienow at No. 2 doubles, as well as Rachel Hayes and Maggie Clousing at No. 3 doubles.
These results highlight the competitive spirit and skill displayed by the teams in the Suburban Life sports scene, as they continue to battle for supremacy in their respective leagues.
