Air Canada has announced a significant enhancement in bus service for travellers in the Waterloo Region heading to Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ). Effective December 1, 2023, the airline will double its bus trips, offering a total of 10 daily departures from the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF).

This expansion follows a positive response from the community, as noted by Ranbir Singh, Director, Regional Airlines and Markets at Air Canada. “We have been very satisfied with the response from the Kitchener-Waterloo Region to Air Canada’s innovative, multi-modal service,” Singh stated. The increase in bus service aims to provide improved connectivity for passengers traveling to far-reaching destinations, including Vancouver, Tokyo, Halifax, and San Francisco.

The upgraded schedule will allow for enhanced travel flexibility. Buses departing from YKF will operate as early as 05:30 and as late as 20:25. For return trips from YYZ to YKF, the service will run from 07:00 to 22:15. This expanded timetable is designed to accommodate a broader range of flight schedules, making it easier for passengers to plan their journeys.

Karen Redman, Chair of the Region of Waterloo, expressed enthusiasm regarding this development. “Doubling the frequency strengthens Waterloo Region’s global reach and opens new doors for our residents, businesses, and visitors alike. We are committed to providing travellers with more accessible options,” Redman remarked, highlighting the positive impact on the local community.

This initiative by Air Canada not only increases the number of available trips but also reinforces the airline’s commitment to enhancing passenger experience through innovative transportation solutions. By integrating bus services with air travel, Air Canada aims to simplify the travel process for its customers.

As the demand for travel continues to grow, this expansion reflects a proactive approach to meet the needs of travellers in the Waterloo Region. The additional bus service is expected to further enhance the connectivity between local and international destinations, fostering economic growth and accessibility for the entire region.

The community and Air Canada are poised to benefit from this enhanced service, with increased opportunities for travel and business expansion. As December approaches, passengers can look forward to these new travel options, making their journeys from the Waterloo Region to Toronto Pearson more convenient than ever.
