Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Launching on Switch and Switch 2 This November

Bandai Namco has officially announced that the highly anticipated game, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, will be available on Nintendo platforms in November 2023. As excitement builds among fans, new details from the company’s Japanese website highlight how the game will perform on both the existing Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
Performance and Visual Enhancements
For the Switch 2, the game will utilize Unreal Engine 5, offering a maximum resolution of 810p through dynamic resolution scaling. The gameplay will be locked at 30 frames per second, ensuring a smooth experience in both docked and handheld modes. Additionally, players can expect high dynamic range (HDR) support, which will enhance visual quality with richer colors and improved brightness.
In comparison, the original Nintendo Switch will operate at a fixed resolution of 720p when docked and 480p in handheld mode, also maintaining a frame rate of 30fps. While performance may be more limited on the original console, both versions promise to deliver the fast-paced, action-packed gameplay that the Dragon Ball series is renowned for.
Multiplayer and System Compatibility
In a bid to enhance player experience, Bandai Namco has confirmed that both versions of the game will include local multiplayer functionality and motion control support. This offers fans diverse ways to engage with the game, whether playing solo or with friends.
Furthermore, a system update will be provided for both physical and digital copies of the game. This ensures that players who upgrade from the original Switch to the Switch 2 will have access to an optimized version of Sparking! Zero.
To illustrate the differences in visual quality between the two platforms, Bandai Namco has released comparison screenshots. These images provide a side-by-side look at how the game will appear on the original Switch compared to the Switch 2.
As the launch date approaches, fans are eager to engage in the signature over-the-top battles that the Dragon Ball franchise offers. Whether players choose to stick with the current Switch or make the leap to the next generation, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is set to deliver an exciting gaming experience this November.
