Air Canada Expands Bus Service to Toronto Pearson, Boosting Connectivity

Air Canada is enhancing travel options for passengers in the Waterloo Region by doubling its bus service to Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ). Effective from December 1, 2023, the number of daily bus trips provided by The Landline Company will increase from five to ten, offering greater convenience for those flying from the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF).
Ranbir Singh, Director of Regional Airlines and Markets at Air Canada, expressed satisfaction with the service’s growth. “We have been very satisfied with the response from the Kitchener-Waterloo Region to Air Canada’s innovative, multi-modal service,” he stated. The decision to expand the service reflects increasing demand, according to Singh, who noted that the additional trips will enhance connectivity between YKF and major destinations served from YYZ, including Vancouver, Tokyo, Halifax, and San Francisco.
The new schedule will provide earlier and later options for travelers. Buses departing from YKF in Breslau will start at 5:30 a.m. and run as late as 8:25 p.m.. For return trips from YYZ to YKF, buses will operate between 7:00 a.m. and 10:15 p.m..
Karen Redman, Chair of the Region of Waterloo, emphasized the positive impact of this expansion. “Doubling the frequency strengthens Waterloo Region’s global reach and opens new doors for our residents, businesses, and visitors alike,” she remarked. The enhanced service is expected to provide more accessible travel options and encourage local residents to utilize the regional airport for their international travel needs.
With the increase in bus service, Air Canada is positioning itself to better serve the growing travel demands of the Waterloo Region. This change not only highlights the airline’s commitment to customer satisfaction but also underscores the importance of regional connectivity in today’s travel landscape. As the service continues to gain traction, further expansions may be on the horizon, promising even greater opportunities for travelers in the area.
