Remembering Bill Bray: A Life of Family, Adventure, and Laughter

The community of White Rock, British Columbia, mourns the loss of William Edwin Bray, affectionately known as Bill, who passed away peacefully at his home on September 5, 2025, at the age of 83. Bill’s unexpected departure has left a profound impact on his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his lifetime.
Born in Vancouver on July 25, 1942, Bill spent the majority of his life in White Rock, where he built a legacy as a devoted father, grandfather, and community member. He is survived by his four daughters, Tiena, Michelle, Lesley, and Stephanie, along with his seven grandchildren: Lucas, Leedan, Slater, Charlie, Shanna, Summer, and Brooke. He also leaves behind his younger brother, Ronald Bray, and his beloved wife, Pamela Bray, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
A Life Rich in Passion and Adventure
Bill Bray was known for his zest for life and numerous passions. He had a particular affinity for collecting classic cars and trucks, which became a significant part of his identity. One of his cherished routines involved meeting friends at the self-named “Loser’s Club” for morning coffee. These gatherings reflected his love for companionship and community.
Travel was another significant aspect of Bill’s life. He enjoyed exploring the landscapes of British Columbia, California, Arizona, and beyond in his RV with Pamela. Together, they attended car shows and relished in the beauty of sunrises and sunsets, creating lasting memories along the way.
Bill was not only a family man but also a dedicated entrepreneur. He devoted his life to building various family businesses alongside Pamela. Their road construction company employed many individuals, fostering a sense of extended family among their workforce. During their entrepreneurial journey, they owned the historic Timberland Motel & Campground, a well-known landmark on King George Highway that welcomed countless guests over the years.
A Legacy of Laughter and Kindness
Bill Bray’s legacy extends beyond his business ventures. He was celebrated for his witty sense of humor, genuine curiosity, and the warmth he shared with everyone he met. His trademark greetings—a nod, a smile, and a friendly “how are you doing?”—left an indelible mark on the hearts of those in his community.
“We love you, will hold you in our hearts, you are truly one of a kind who will be missed by many,” his family expressed in a heartfelt tribute.
A memorial service is scheduled to take place at Heritage Gardens on October 4, 2025, at 14:00, followed by a celebration of Bill’s life. This gathering will serve as an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to come together and honor a man whose life was filled with love, adventure, and laughter.
As the community remembers Bill Bray, those who knew him will undoubtedly cherish his spirit and the memories created during his remarkable life. His contributions to his family and the broader community will continue to resonate for years to come.
