The Putnam County Public Library District is set to welcome back Hobo, a certified reading dog, to the Granville Library this fall as part of the Tales with Tails program. This initiative offers children a supportive environment to practice reading aloud to certified therapy dogs, enhancing their literacy skills in a relaxed and encouraging setting.

Hobo’s return is a highlight for the local community, as the program aims to help young readers build confidence and improve their fluency. The presence of a calm, nonjudgmental dog allows children to explore the joy of reading without the fear of making mistakes.

Program dates include:
– Saturday, September 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
– Tuesday, September 23, 2023, at 17:00.
– Saturday, October 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
– Tuesday, October 28, 2023, at 17:00.
– Saturday, November 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.

All sessions will take place at the Granville branch, located at 214 S. McCoy St. The Tales with Tails program is free and open to the public, making it an accessible resource for families looking to foster a love of reading in their children.
