Celebrate Canadian Literature at Campbell River’s Festival
The 22nd Words on the Water Literary Festival will take place on March 13 and 14, 2026, at the Maritime Heritage Centre in Campbell River. This annual event celebrates Canadian literature and provides attendees with the chance to engage with eight distinguished authors from across the country. The festival is designed in a writers-for-readers format, allowing audiences to listen to and be inspired by the works of celebrated literary figures.

This year’s festival features an impressive lineup of award-winning authors, including Michael Crummey, Conor Kerr, Vincent Lam, Tracey Lindberg, Claire Mulligan, Garth Mullins, Maria Reva, and Iona Whishaw. Each author will present their work and participate in discussions, offering unique insights into their writing processes and literary contributions.
For those interested in attending, the festival promises a rich program that includes not only literary discussions but also social events. Participants can look forward to Friday night appetizers and music, Saturday lunch, and desserts accompanied by music during the Saturday night Literary Cabaret.
