Superior Heights is set to host its Holiday Day of Dance Workshop on December 7, 2023, inviting young dancers of all skill levels to participate. This festive workshop aims to provide an encouraging environment for children to explore dance, stay active, and enjoy the holiday season. Scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the workshop will cost $35, payable through ADSB School Cash online or via cheque.

Building on a Successful Foundation

Following the success of its inaugural community Day of Dance Workshop during Halloween, where over 80 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 9 participated, Superior Heights is excited to offer another vibrant event. The previous workshop featured a day filled with Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Jazz, and engaging Dance Games, led by the talented members of the Superior Heights Varsity Dance Team, under the coordination of teachers Alicia Annett and Danielle Lavoie.

The earlier event concluded with an energetic showcase, allowing participants to perform for their families and friends. The showcase also highlighted performances by the Superior Varsity and Junior Dance Teams, creating a memorable experience for all involved. “These workshops provide wonderful opportunities for our Varsity dancers to develop leadership, choreography, and mentoring skills,” stated Annett, who is also one of the organizers. “They also help financially support the team as they prepare for their competition trip to Waterloo in May for the Ontario Secondary School Dancefest.”

Encouraging Participation and Fun

The Holiday Day of Dance Workshop will continue to embrace dancers of all experience levels, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. The event is designed to foster a love for dance while promoting physical activity and enjoyment during the festive season. Families interested in registering can find further details and sign up through the team’s Instagram page at @supheightsdanceteam.

Superior Heights eagerly anticipates welcoming another enthusiastic group of young dancers to this high-energy holiday event, reinforcing its commitment to community engagement and the arts. With a focus on fun and creativity, the workshop promises to be an enriching experience for all participants.
