Explore Opportunities at Sauk Valley Community College Open House

Sauk Valley Community College (SVCC) invites the community to an Open House on October 7, 2025, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at its main campus located in Dixon, Illinois. This complimentary event provides an opportunity for prospective students, their families, and community members to discover the wide range of educational offerings available at SVCC.

Attendees will have the chance to engage with faculty, staff, and current students to gain insights into the diverse academic programs. Areas of study include criminal justice, agriculture, early childhood education, and health careers, alongside essential general education courses such as English, mathematics, psychology, and biology. This Open House serves as a platform for individuals to explore the resources designed to support student success.

Representatives from various departments, including Student Services, TRIO, and disability support, will be available to answer questions regarding student activities, foundation scholarships, BACE, TimelyMD, and the Learning Commons/Tutoring Center. Families preparing for college will receive valuable information on financial aid opportunities and student support options.

Campus Tours and Financial Aid Support

Guided campus tours will depart every half hour, allowing guests to experience the welcoming environment where students thrive. The tours provide an excellent opportunity to see the facilities and understand what makes SVCC a unique place for education.

In addition, a FAFSA Completion Workshop will occur concurrently in the Riverview Conference Room. Here, the Financial Aid team will offer one-on-one assistance to families navigating the Free Application for Federal Student Aid process. This support is crucial for those preparing for the next steps in their education.

Whether attendees are exploring career paths, planning to transfer to a four-year institution, or simply curious about SVCC, this Open House is an ideal starting point for their educational journey.
