Woman Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle in Prince Albert

A pedestrian was fatally injured in a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Prince Albert early on March 16, 2024. The incident took place around 04:30 near the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 55 East, just north of the Diefenbaker Bridge.

Initial reports indicate that an unidentified woman was struck by a vehicle and was found unconscious and not breathing at the scene. Emergency responders from Parkland Ambulance quickly arrived and performed life-saving measures before transporting her to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, she was later pronounced deceased.

The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. The Major Crimes Unit (MCU) of the Prince Albert Police Service has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. They are working alongside the Forensic Identification Section (FIS), Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS), and a Saskatchewan RCMP Forensic Reconstructionist.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities are expected to provide further updates. The community is left in shock as they mourn the loss of the victim. Police have urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
