The Tyee has announced the launch of its new initiative, Creative Forces, aimed at recognizing and celebrating innovative thinkers in British Columbia who are making a positive impact on society. The project highlights individuals who leverage their creativity in fields such as the arts, technology, and advocacy to address pressing social challenges.

At the heart of this initiative is the belief that creativity can lead to significant improvements in the community. The Tyee’s first featured Creative Force will be revealed today at 17:00 (UTC-7), coinciding with the release of the latest edition of their arts, ideas, and culture section, Weekender. This inaugural recognition will spotlight an individual who has developed a program designed to inspire young people to explore opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM).

The initiative encourages community participation in identifying these creative individuals. The Tyee is inviting readers to submit nominations through an easy-to-fill form. This crowd-sourced approach aims to uncover remarkable talents and innovators throughout British Columbia. The project not only seeks to honor individuals but also to foster connections within the creative community.

In partnership with CreativeMornings/Vancouver, the series will include live presentations at monthly breakfast events, where attendees can nominate future honorees. Looking ahead, The Tyee plans to host a special event next year to showcase some of the most impactful Creative Forces in the province.

The goal of Creative Forces is clear: to highlight and support creative thinkers who contribute to social change and inspire others. Each first Friday of the month will be dedicated to profiling a new Creative Force, making it a regular feature that emphasizes the importance of creativity in driving positive outcomes.

Readers are encouraged to stay connected for updates and to consider who in their networks fits the criteria of a Creative Force. By spotlighting these individuals, The Tyee aims to create a ripple effect of inspiration within the community. The inaugural profile will be available later today, marking the beginning of a journey to celebrate creativity and its role in building a brighter future for British Columbia.
