Weather conditions are set to deteriorate today as a deepening storm approaches, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds across the region. Residents can expect a total of 10 to 20 mm of rain by sunset, contributing to widespread precipitation that will persist throughout much of the day.

As the storm advances, northwest winds will intensify significantly, with sustained speeds ranging from 25 to 35 km/h. Gusts are anticipated to reach between 40 to 55 km/h, with coastal areas along Lake Superior experiencing maximum gusts of up to 65 to 80 km/h. These conditions will keep temperatures relatively cool, hovering around 13°C under the persistent cloud cover.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, a brief reprieve from the unsettled weather is expected, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures again reaching 13°C. This lull will be short-lived, as another weather system is forecasted to move in by Tuesday. Rain is set to begin around noon, accompanied by gusty easterly winds, which will likely lower daytime highs to approximately 11°C.

Residents are advised to prepare for challenging weather conditions today, particularly in areas prone to flooding due to the anticipated rainfall and wind gusts. Caution is recommended for outdoor activities and travel during this time.
