A new cultural hub has opened in Batavia, Illinois, known as Soul Studio. Situated behind Water Street Studios, this venue provides a diverse range of activities, including workshops, live music nights, and dance lessons, alongside options for private event hosting.

Founded by Tess Bondavalli, Soul Studio emerged from her extensive experience in booking live music and marketing for local businesses. “My love for this community — and the generous musicians, practitioners, teachers who live here — made me want to create a space that protects positivity and growth, even when life feels heavy,” Bondavalli stated in a recent news release. She emphasized the importance of supporting one another to maintain a sense of joy and vulnerability, particularly through the medium of dance.

The venue features a mocktail bar that serves an array of non-alcoholic beverages, including signature drinks like Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Passion, and Booch, Please. This alcohol-free environment makes it accessible to individuals under the age of 21, fostering an inclusive atmosphere for all attendees.
