Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge Revealed in Detailed CAD Renders

The first detailed look at the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge has emerged, showcasing the device through Computer-Aided Design (CAD) renders. This information comes from a collaboration with OnLeaks, offering insights into the design and features expected from the new smartphone.
Design Features and Specifications
The CAD images reveal a sleek and modern design for the Galaxy S26 Edge, featuring a flat display with a centered camera hole at the top. The bezels are notably thin and uniform, enhancing the device’s contemporary aesthetic. The power and lock button will be located on the right side, with the volume controls positioned above it for easy access.
The frame of the phone is primarily flat but includes slightly rounded edges for improved comfort. The corners are also rounded, aligning with current consumer preferences for ergonomics. On the back, the device sports a large camera island that stretches across the width of the phone, housing two vertically aligned cameras in the top left corner.
Many have questioned the size of the camera island given the presence of only two cameras. The design choice is influenced by the overall thickness of the phone, which is set to be thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Performance and Features
The Galaxy S26 Edge will replace the Galaxy S25+, which has seen weaker sales performance compared to other models in the Galaxy S series. Samsung appears to be positioning the Galaxy S26 Edge as a flagship device, with plans to introduce the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Ultra alongside it.
The new smartphone is expected to be even slimmer than the Galaxy S25 Edge, measuring approximately 158.4 x 75.7 x 5.5 mm (10.8 mm including the camera bump). It will maintain a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, similar to its predecessor. While resolution details remain unconfirmed, the display quality promises to be competitive.
One notable feature is the inclusion of built-in magnets, enabling proper Qi2 support for wireless charging. This aligns the Galaxy S26 Edge with innovations from other smartphone brands, such as Apple and Google.
Powering the device is likely to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, although some models may feature Exynos chips depending on regional availability. There are also expectations of an overclocked version of the Snapdragon chip, tailored for Samsung’s flagship lineup.
In terms of memory, the Galaxy S26 Edge is anticipated to include either 12GB or 16GB of RAM, with multiple storage options available. The battery capacity is expected to increase from 3,900 mAh to 4,200 mAh, despite the thinner profile.
Additionally, the device is set to upgrade its ultrawide camera to a 50-megapixel sensor, a significant enhancement over the 12-megapixel camera used in the Galaxy S25 series. This improvement may align with the sensor featured in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, enhancing photography capabilities.
Samsung is likely to unveil the Galaxy S26 Edge in January 2024, adhering to its usual release cycle. More details and insights about the Galaxy S26 series are expected to emerge in the coming weeks, offering consumers a clearer picture of what to anticipate from Samsung’s latest flagship devices.
