Ontario Police Investigate Stolen Ambulance in Colborne

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the theft of an ambulance in Colborne, Ontario. The incident occurred on August 17, 2025, shortly after 23:30, when police received a report of a stolen vehicle from William Street. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were attending to a call at a residence and discovered the ambulance missing upon their return.
The stolen vehicle was located a short time later in a different part of town, found unoccupied. The prompt recovery of the ambulance highlights the swift response by local authorities. Officers from the OPP’s Northumberland Detachment, alongside the OPP Canine Unit, were deployed to assist in the investigation.
Despite their efforts, no individuals connected to the theft have been identified. The investigation remains ongoing, with officers following various leads to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
This case raises concerns about the security of emergency vehicles, which play a crucial role in public safety. The OPP is urging anyone with information related to the theft to come forward to assist in their inquiries.
