Demi Lovato Celebrates New Album and Tour with “It’s Not That Deep”
Los Angeles pop star Demi Lovato has unveiled her ninth studio album, titled “It’s Not That Deep,” marking a fresh chapter in her musical journey. The album, which features 11 energetic dance-pop tracks, celebrates the joys and complexities of life. Lovato expressed her enthusiasm in a recent interview with The Associated Press, stating, “I’ve put so much energy and so much love into this album. I just couldn’t be more excited.”
The “It’s Not That Deep” Tour is set to kick off on April 8, 2024, at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, and will span 23 cities across North America. The tour will conclude on May 25, 2024, at the Toyota Center in Houston. Other tour stops include major cities like Orlando, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles. Artist presale begins on Thursday at 10 a.m. local time, with general sales commencing the following day.
In a conversation with the Associated Press, Lovato discussed the personal significance of her new album and her artistic evolution. Reflecting on her career, she acknowledged the importance of embracing her past, stating, “I think it’s a bit of owning it… I’ve made peace with my journey and now I’m celebrating where I am at today.” Lovato’s comments highlight her willingness to transform past experiences into a source of strength.
Exploring the themes of her album, Lovato emphasizes the importance of fun and spontaneity in her music. She described the song “Kiss” as a “simple party, fun song,” adding, “I want my lyrics to reflect that.” This shift from deeply emotional songwriting to a more lighthearted approach signals a new direction in her artistry.
Lovato also shared insights into her creative process, revealing that her musical transformations are driven by current inspirations. “I’m a fan of all genres of music pretty much,” she explained. This album, influenced by the vibrant pop scene, reflects her desire to create music that resonates with her present self.
The excitement surrounding her upcoming tour is palpable. Lovato expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response to her intimate One Night Only show at the Palladium, where over 200,000 fans queued for tickets. “I cried when I saw that 200,000 people wanted to come to my show,” she said. “That level of demand is so reassuring… I wouldn’t be here in this place without them.”
As Lovato prepares for her tour, she aims to bring the energy and joy of her new album to life on stage. With her latest work and performances, she invites fans to join her in celebrating not just her music, but the journey that has shaped her along the way.
