Benet and Timothy Christian Volleyball Teams Secure Victories

The girls’ volleyball teams from Benet Academy and Timothy Christian High School both achieved impressive victories on Tuesday, continuing their strong performances this season. Benet defeated Marian Catholic High School with a decisive score of 25-14, 25-7, while Timothy Christian triumphed over St. Edward High School with scores of 25-14, 25-21.

In the match against Marian Catholic, the standout player for Benet was Brooklynne Brass, who recorded seven kills and four digs. Lynney Tarnow also contributed significantly with eight kills, and Ellie Stiernagle provided 18 assists, showcasing her playmaking skills. With this victory, Benet improved its record to 25 wins and 2 losses, maintaining an undefeated status of 4-0 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference (ESCC).

Meanwhile, Timothy Christian’s match against St. Edward saw Bella Potempa leading the charge with 12 kills, complemented by three aces and three digs. Her teammates also played pivotal roles, with Ella Rickert contributing five kills and Elizabeth Alex providing 18 assists along with six digs and three aces. This win elevated Timothy Christian’s record to 21 wins and 2 losses, as they remain unbeaten in conference play at 6-0.

Both teams demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork on the court, and their recent performances reflect their strong positions in the league. As the season progresses, fans will be keen to see how these teams build on their momentum.
