Meta’s Threads app is experiencing significant growth, having reached a remarkable milestone of 150 million daily active users. Following the introduction of community features and disappearing “ghost posts,” the platform is now enhancing user experience with new tools that empower individuals to manage their conversations more effectively.

Introducing Reply Approval Features

One of the standout features is the newly implemented Reply Approvals. This functionality allows users to curate which replies to their posts are visible to others before they go public. By presenting a list of pending replies, users can approve or ignore comments with a simple click. This feature aims to help maintain the focus of discussions and ensure that conversations remain relevant.

In addition to the approval option, users can also choose to approve or ignore all comments at once, streamlining the process. Existing tools already enable users to limit replies to followers, people they follow, or specific mentions, further enhancing their control over discussions. This new capability is designed to allow users to set the tone for their conversations effectively.

Enhanced Activity Feed Filters

Alongside the reply approval feature, Meta is rolling out new Activity feed filters. These filters allow users to easily access replies from those they follow or replies that include mentions. This functionality adds to existing options such as Verified, Quotes, and Reposts, enabling users to sift through interactions more efficiently.

The rollout of these features is part of Meta’s broader strategy to increase user engagement on Threads. As the app continues to expand its user base, the company is also focusing on monetization strategies, including the introduction of global advertising on the platform. This includes the addition of new ad formats, such as video ads, enhancing the overall advertising experience.

Moreover, Meta is testing features that allow users to customize their algorithm by selecting topics of interest, reflecting the company’s commitment to user feedback.

As Threads continues to evolve, these new tools signal Meta’s intent to enhance the user experience while fostering safe and engaging conversations within the app.
