Boardwalk Builders Joins Steam’s Back to School Games Celebration

Boardwalk Builders, a new title from Studio Primitive and Liminal Pendulum, is set to participate in the Back to School Games Celebration on Steam. This event, organized by Mooncube Games—the creators of Spirit City: Lofi Sessions—and the well-known YouTube channel Lofi Girl, runs from August 25 to September 1, 2023. The celebration highlights games that focus on educational and productivity elements, featuring various demos and discounts.
The innovative game allows players to design and expand their own boardwalk, offering a unique twist on the simulation genre. In Boardwalk Builders, players can construct rides, food stands, and booths while managing visitor satisfaction to generate funds for further development. The gameplay also introduces challenges, including natural disasters and competition from rival corporations, which add to the complexity and excitement.
Recent updates to the demo have introduced several new features. A new Fame Points system encourages creativity by enabling players to unlock and upgrade boardwalk components through inventive building combinations. Additionally, structures now require upkeep, meaning players must manage building degradation and can hire a Maintenance Man to maintain their aesthetics. The addition of entertainers allows players to recruit and upgrade performers, further enhancing the boardwalk’s appeal and income potential.
In an exciting collaboration, Studio Primitive has teamed up with High Flying Studio, the developers behind Kittenship Care, to unveil a new Tier 2 building. By combining specific structures, players can unlock this whimsical, feline-themed addition, bringing charm and new possibilities to their boardwalk.
With its recent updates and engaging blend of creativity and strategy, Boardwalk Builders stands out as a key feature of this year’s Back to School Games Celebration. Participants can explore the demo and discover other featured titles throughout the event on Steam, making it an excellent opportunity for gamers to engage with new content.
