The family of Kaye Margaret McGuire has announced her passing on August 20, 2025, following a brief but courageous battle with leukemia. Kaye, aged 79, died at ARCH, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family and community.

A Life of Service and Family Devotion

Born on June 18, 1946, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Kaye was the daughter of the late Ennis and Marie Bumstead. She married Gerald E. McGuire and was a devoted mother to her three children: Gerry McGuire (Rosemary), Kara Provenzano (Lucas), and a loving grandmother to six grandchildren, including Isabella, Patrick, and Lily McGuire, as well as Ronan, Ava, and Adam Provenzano. Kaye also cherished her role as a great-grandmother to Kaleb.

Kaye graduated from Sault Area High School in 1964 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Michigan State University in 1968. Her professional career included roles at The Plummer Memorial Hospital and The Children’s Aid Society before she chose to dedicate her time to her family. Kaye’s passion for family was evident in everything she did, and she was known for her unwavering support and love.

Community Impact and Personal Interests

Kaye was more than a devoted family member; she was also an active member of her community, participating in the C.W.L. (Catholic Women’s League). Kaye enjoyed her time on St. Joe’s Island and in Florida, where she embraced nature and the outdoors. Her interests included geography, travel, and playing trivia games, particularly Jeopardy, where she often excelled. Kaye’s laughter and joy in sharing moments with her family and friends will be fondly remembered.

In her final months, Kaye received compassionate care at ARCH, where the exceptional dedication of the staff left a lasting impression on her family. They express their gratitude to Dr. Cook, Dr. Rahn, Dr. Hill, and Dr. N. Apostle, along with the staff from the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Clinic and Bayshore Home Health for their support during this challenging time.

The family invites those wishing to honor Kaye’s memory to consider making donations to ARCH or a charity of their choice, either by cheque or online. A funeral Mass will be held at Precious Blood Cathedral on August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel located at 492 Wellington Street East. Additional information can be found on the funeral home’s website, where messages of condolence can be left for the family.

Kaye Margaret McGuire will be deeply missed by her family and friends, whose lives she touched with her kindness, love, and unwavering spirit.
