CFIA Issues Pistachio Recall in B.C. Over Salmonella Concerns

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has announced a recall of specific pistachio products in British Columbia due to potential contamination with Salmonella. The recall, issued on June 26, 2025, follows a CFIA test result that raised concerns regarding food safety.
The recalled products include Pistachio In-Shell Lime and Saffron, which were sold without labels in various sizes from September 5 to 19, 2025. Additionally, Persian Style Pistachios with Saffron, bearing product codes #7081 and #7080, were available for purchase between August 28 and October 11, 2025.
As of the latest update, there have been no reported illnesses linked to these pistachios. However, the CFIA advises consumers to refrain from eating the affected products. Individuals who have purchased the recalled items should either return them to the point of sale or discard them appropriately.
In the event of any symptoms related to foodborne illness, the CFIA recommends contacting a healthcare provider for guidance. For further details regarding this recall and food safety, consumers can visit the CFIA website.
Pistachios are a popular snack choice, but safety concerns such as this highlight the importance of food monitoring and public health measures. The CFIA continues to work diligently to ensure the safety of food products available in Canada.
