Tormach Unveils xsTECH Pro CNC Router for Educational Use
Tormach has launched its latest innovation, the xsTECH Pro CNC desktop router, aimed primarily at educational institutions and training setups. This new generation of the xsTECH platform offers a blend of professional machining functions within a compact and enclosed design, making it ideal for classrooms, STEM labs, and makerspaces.
The xsTECH Pro, which weighs 150 lb, is engineered to fit conveniently on a 24-inch countertop. Its full safety enclosure effectively contains chips and dust, enhancing the safety of users in educational environments. This model builds upon the features of the original xsTECH, introducing a four-station automatic tool changer, expanded spindle capabilities, and optional integration with robotic workcells—attributes that are uncommon in systems designed for classroom settings.
Equipped with capabilities for probing and 4th-axis machining, the xsTECH Pro operates on standard single-phase power. It is versatile enough to cut through materials such as wood, plastics, and aluminum, thus broadening its applicability in various projects. The router utilizes Tormach’s PathPilot control software, which allows for conversational programming and access to the PathPilot HUB, streamlining the user experience.
For advanced educational programs, the xsTECH Pro can seamlessly integrate into robotic workcells, enabling automated workflows that enhance learning opportunities for students.
With the introduction of the xsTECH Pro, Tormach aims to bridge the gap between professional machining capabilities and educational accessibility, fostering an environment where students can learn and innovate safely.
