Streator Library Unveils Exciting Week of Free Programs for All Ages

The Streator Public Library is set to offer a diverse range of free programs from December 8 to December 13, 2023, catering to all age groups. The week-long event will feature activities such as an ornaments-themed scavenger hunt and a Lego Club, welcoming children with parental supervision for Lego activities.

Weekly Schedule of Events

Each day will highlight a different set of programs. On Monday, the library kicks off with “Make It: TikTok for Teens” from 17:00 to 18:00, where participants will learn safe techniques for video creation. Later that day, adults can participate in the Library Book Club from 10:00 to 11:00, discussing this month’s selected readings.

Tuesday continues the excitement with an afternoon Watercolor class for ages 10 and up from 16:30 to 17:30, followed by a “Holidays Around the World” storytime for young children from 18:00 to 18:30.

Wednesday brings “Game Time” for teens from 15:00 to 16:00, along with a Murder Mystery Meetup for both teens and adults from 18:00 to 19:00.

On Thursday, the Mother Goose Club will engage toddlers from 11:00 to 11:30. Later in the day, Snap Circuits will be available for ages 8 and up from 16:30 to 17:30, while an evening Acrylic Painting session for children will run from 18:00 to 19:00.

Friday focuses on the younger audience with “Paw Patrol Playtime” from 15:30 to 16:30, offering stories, coloring activities, and videos.

Finally, on Saturday, adults can enhance their technical skills with an iPhone Tech Tutorial from 11:00 to 12:00. Later, from 13:00 to 14:00, a Dice Bag Sewing workshop will be offered for both teens and adults.
